Red Diary Privacy Policy

Red Diary is a cycle tracking and body intelligence app built by DORMEUSAPPS LLC. We believe reproductive health data is among the most sensitive information a person can have. Red Diary was designed from day one to keep that data entirely under your control.

Our Core Principle

Your data stays on your device. Red Diary does not have servers, does not create user accounts, and does not transmit your health data anywhere. There is no cloud. There is no backup we can access. If you delete the app, your data is gone.

Information Stored on Your Device

Red Diary stores the following information locally on your iPhone to power its features:

• Cycle dates, period logs, and flow intensity
• Symptoms, mood, energy, sleep quality, and notes
• Discharge observations and body temperature (BBT)
• Sexual activity logs (with protection status, if entered)
• Pregnancy data (due date, kick counts, appointments, weight)
• Water intake
• Profile preferences (avatar, cycle length, goal)
• Custom symptom tags

This data is stored using your device's local storage and is never transmitted to external servers.

Apple HealthKit

If you grant permission, Red Diary reads the following data from Apple Health:

• Step count, distance, and flights climbed
• Active energy burned and exercise minutes
• Heart rate and VO2 Max (cardio fitness)
• Sleep analysis
• Workout history (last 7 days)

Red Diary only reads from HealthKit. We never write data to Apple Health. HealthKit data is processed on your device and is never sent to any server. You can revoke Health access at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.

Information We Do Not Collect

Red Diary does not collect, store, or have access to:

• Your name, email address, or phone number
• Your location
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Any data from other apps on your device

Third-Party Services

Red Diary does not include any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking tools. The only third-party service involved is Apple's App Store for processing subscriptions via StoreKit. Apple may collect billing information according to their own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features may require a paid subscription. All billing is handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store payment information. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal data with any third party. Period.

Mood Share Feature

Red Diary includes a Mood Share feature that lets you share how you're feeling with someone you trust. This feature is designed so that fertility status, cycle phase, and intimate health data are never included in shared messages — only mood and general wellbeing. Sharing is initiated entirely by you and uses your device's native share sheet.

Children's Privacy

Red Diary is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Security

Because your data never leaves your device, the security of your data is protected by your device's own security measures — your passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, and device encryption. We recommend keeping your device locked and updated.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
